The original
casting of the Austin Seven Mini was produced as a Lledo Days Gone (DG) series
model, (at that time LLEDO models were produced in LONDON, before CORGI bought
the ailing company, around the end of 1999). The DAYS GONE Austin Se7en Mini
model was upgraded in 1997 into VA25 as part of the newly announced
"Vanguards" range (range introduced in late 1996).
The model was improved with the fitting of wheels with rubber tyres (instead of
one piece plastic wheels and tyres) and additional detail (door handles,
windscreen wipers etc) is picked out too.
Lledo Vanguards is a range of 1950s and 1960s classic British cars and vans.
From time to time 'de-specced' versions of the Mini and Mini Van have been
produced, as LP models (Lledo promotionals). These cars repeat the lower
specification of the 1995 Lledo models (plastic wheels, etc) and are usually
made as company promotional items in batches of 1,000 or more. Among the promotionals
made to date are Bucks Auto Components and Auto Trader Mini Vans,
plus Picture Pride Cabinets, Scottish Telecom Mini Saloons.
